Rebecca Sussman

Rebecca Sussman is a senior associate at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP.

Rebecca’s practice has focused on white collar criminal defense and government investigations, representing both individuals and institutions, and civil litigation matters. She maintains an active pro bono practice.

Rebecca joined the firm from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, where she was engaged in all phases of litigation. While there, Rebecca conducted internal investigations for public companies, advocated for multiple pro bono clients seeking asylum, and provided pro bono assistance to the Innocence Project. She also represented individuals in federal criminal investigations. Rebecca completed a clerkship with Hon. Roslynn R. Mauskopf of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Prior to her time at Simpson Thacher, Rebecca also worked as a Legal Extern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York and as a Legal Intern for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

Rebecca received her J.D. from Cornell Law School, where she was awarded the CALI Award for Excellent Achievement in Ethical Issues in Criminal Investigations, Prosecution & Policy. During her time at Cornell, she was an Articles Editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. Rebecca received her B.A. from University of Pennsylvania, School of Arts and Sciences.
